A bunch of you endured some rainy weather on Saturday for the Bloomfield Invitational. There was some top notch competition with a bunch of track clubs from MA & CT. These are the kind of clubs that will be at the USATF meet in June. The team from Haverhill, MA ("Haverhill Elite Track Club") won the meet, but we had some nice performances and a bunch of PRs. Those setting season-best marks will get black improvement ribbons, but we had a number of kids also placing in the top 6 in their event and getting medals. I will give a special shout-out to our 1600m runners, all of whom set personal records: Ada Grant 6:11, Aiden Cass 5:53, William Cowley 6:04, Mitchell Aarons 6:44, Ethan Halpern 6:39. Bloomfield results will be posted on the website once we receive them.
Next Saturday, 5/19
Athletes in Grades 5-9 can compete in the Bement Invitational at Deerfield Academy. I will be sending more information about the meet and how to sign up in the next day or two. I expect it will last from 9:30 to 12:00.
I will send another email out about whether we are having Saturday practice for the remainder of the program.
Hans and I will be leading our usual extra session on Monday at the Wolf Swamp fields at 5-6 pm for Groups 3 & 4 distance runners and throwers.
Tuesday & Thursday, 5/15 & 5/17
Tuesday practice will be at the Wolf Swamp fields. Thursday practice will be at the LHS track. 5-6 pm as usual. All of this is also on the Track Calendar on the website.
