Registration is open for fall cross country
Fall cross country is for elementary and middle school students ages 7-14. Emphasis will be on physical fitness and individual improvement. All youth will run the Longmeadow Cross Country 2K/3K races, which will take place on Saturday mornings. The race will also be open to parents and other members of the public.
Middle school youth will compete at the 3K distance in three to four meets against other programs, including the Western Massachusetts Middle School Cross Country Invitational. Elementary school students will have the opportunity to compete at the Massachusetts Elementary School championship. All athletes will have the opportunity to compete in the USATF cross country meet in November at the 2K and 3K distances.
Practices are Mondays and Thursdays, 5-6 pm at Bliss Park. Races are on Saturdays, 8:30-9:30 am. The first practice is September 6 (this first practice is on a Tuesday and is the only exception to the Monday/Thursday/Saturday schedule).
