Race Results, Upcoming races, this week

XC Parents-

Youth was not served this morning. In an interesting sub-plot of the season, Dan Sacco has been battling with a couple of our top runners, Henry Sacco and Ada Grant. In a familiar pattern, Dan takes a lead, and then the two kids, working together, stalk their prey, and have managed to get him at the end. Not today. Dan set a strong pace and a season best, and Henry and Ada were unable to catch him. Results are attached and are on the longmeadowtrack.org website. The Wayland XC Festival results are also on the website.

In other news, coach Cari ran the Hartford marathon in the cold and rain in 3:00:46. That's averaging a sub-7:00 mile over 26.2. She was the 3rd female masters runner, and the 9th female overall. Nicely done.

We will be adding another (and final) 2K race next Saturday, 10/20 (it was going to be a practice) because the conditions this morning were not conducive to running their best times. This will be an opportunity for the kids to set season bests for themselves.

Thursday, October 25 is the Western Massachusetts Middle School Invitational in Granby, MA. As was true for the Suffield meet, there will be a bus picking the kids up from Birchland Park, Glenbrook, and Williams. Please email me (one way or the other) on whether your child will be competing as I need to submit our entries by October 21.

This week, Middle Schoolers will be at Wolf Swamp on Tuesday and at Forest Park on Thursday. Elementary schoolers will be at the Wolf Swamp fields as usual.
