XC this week
We've got a bunch of stuff going on this week: Monday: Come see the LHS XC teams compete against East Longmeadow and Central at Forest Park. I plan to be out there, and I expect to see some alums from our track and XC programs out there. The high school coach tells me that the races will start at 4 (or a little after) at the ball fields in front of the Walker grandstand. Tuesday: Regular practice for Elementary and Middle School at Wolf Swamp fields. Middle schoolers sho

Middle School Granby Meet and tomorrow (Thurs)
Middle School parents- As I mentioned earlier, the Western Mass. Middle School XC Invitational is next Thursday, October 25 in Dufresne Park, Granby, MA. The first race is at 4:10. We have a bus taking us there and back. This is a half day for Glenbrook and Williams, so the Longmeadow kids will get dismissed and then have to come back to school to pick up the bus. The bus will leave Birchland Park at 2:10, Glenbrook at 2:20, and Williams at 2:30. This should give us enou
Race Results, Upcoming races, this week
XC Parents- Youth was not served this morning. In an interesting sub-plot of the season, Dan Sacco has been battling with a couple of our top runners, Henry Sacco and Ada Grant. In a familiar pattern, Dan takes a lead, and then the two kids, working together, stalk their prey, and have managed to get him at the end. Not today. Dan set a strong pace and a season best, and Henry and Ada were unable to catch him. Results are attached and are on the longmeadowtrack.org websi

No Practice Today (Wed) / MS practice tomorrow at Forest Park
I am really sorry to send conflicting messages to the group, but we are not having practice today after all. Please try to have your kids run on their own 2-3 miles. Cari and I wanted to have a make-up practice, but it turns out we are both pulled in other directions today and could not pull it off. Reminder that we have our regular practice Thursday. Middle Schoolers are at Forest Park--meeting location is attached. Elementary at Wolf Swamp fields.
