Elementary XC Parents - Practice next week, Upcoming Championships in Lynn, MA

Hello XC Elementary Parents!

Just a quick note regarding a few upcoming scheduling items:

* Next week, practice will be moved from Thursday, October 25th to Wednesday, October 24th. My apologies for the late notice. I will be out of town on the 25th and the middle-school runners will be at an away meet. We will plan to meet on Wednesday at Wolf Swamp fields at 5 p.m. Again, no practice on Thursday. I hope to see you there!

* The Massachusetts Elementary School Cross Country Championships in Lynn, MA, are fast approaching on Monday, November 12th (Veterans Day Holiday). We ran this race last year and it is a lot of fun on a beautiful golf course. There are 2 races to choose from: 1.2 miles (2K) for grades 1-5 with an option for runners in grades 1-3 to choose a (non team-scoring) 0.7 mi race. I encourage you all to attend as this will be the final race of the season for many of our runners. It is also a unique opportunity for our team to cheer each other on: the course is highly visible at all points and the boys and girls will be run separately.

I have 3 open spaces for runners in my car for this race. Please let me know if your child needs a ride. I will be organizing carpooling in an effort to get as many of us there as possible!

Finally, I will need signed waivers for those runners who will be attending the Lynn meet. Please get these to me as soon as possible, but no later than November 1st. I will plan to hand out copies at practice tonight as well as the meet on Saturday.
