Meet Results and this week in track
Meet Results and Note about Ribbons
We had a great start to the track season with practice last Thursday and our first meet on Saturday. Meet results are posted on the website longmeadowtrack. org. Go to the menu at the top, click on "More" and you will see the page for 2019 Track Results.
Red took the team title and the top individual scorers for boys and girls were: Burleigh Grant with 16 points and Adriana Watson on with 12 points for their teams. Every child scored a point for their team by participating in the meet.
A note about ribbons. For those who were unable to attend the parent meeting, please note that we will not be doing as many ribbons as last year. We will only be doing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th ribbons at the meets against Wilbraham and Ludlow. The black improvement ribbons (given to each child for improving their performance) will be given at the end of the season, and not after each improvement during the course of the season. We had ribbon overload last year.
This Week's Practices
Tuesday's practice will be at the Wolf Swamp fields (NOT Wolf Swamp elementary school), which are across the street from Twin Hills Country Club. Thursday's practice will be at Longmeadow High School, as usual.
Upcoming Meets
We will not be having a meet on either weekend of April school break. The next meet for middle schoolers will be April 25 at Suffield Middle School (we will be taking a bus after school) and April 27 for the whole program on the LHS track.
Middle School State Meet
Finally, middle school parents should check out the "Middle School Corner" on the home page of the website. The middle school state meet is June 1 and there are qualifying standards. More information is on the website.
